That’s what SCORE is all about.  Free business counseling by men and women who have had successful business careers as company executives or owners of their own businesses. They are willing to share their knowledge and experience at absolutely no charge.

SCORE (Service corps of Retired Executives) has 13,000 qualified volunteers in 400 chapters throughout the United States.  Here in Scotts Valley you can make an appointment for your free counseling session by the Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce at 438-1010.

SCORE also presents a free Pre-Business Workshop for those who have never been in business.  It covers getting licenses, keeping records, taxes, partnerships, corporations and should you be in business?  It is held on the first and third Thursday of each month.  It is free but there us a $10 charge should you want the package of materials that are available.  Call 475-6522 to register.

Certificates of Origin are necessary to export goods from California.  This is offered at no charge to our members and $20 per Certificate for non-members.  There is no limit to the amount of certificates a member may have authenticated during the year.

Certificates of Origin prove where a product was manufactured.

Most companies supply their own forms, but you can use the sample from this site.  The paperwork should be completely filled out when brought to our office during office hours (M-F 10 to 4).  We will stamp and sign for the proof of origin.

Be aware that some nations have strict laws for imports and may require a specific type of Certificate of Origin (for example Israel).
